Liquid goes first or the blender won't go. My husband got me a Vitamixer 3 years ago as I broke 6 well-known blenders. The Vitamixer makes little green chunks of spinach go away. Imagine those little chunks on your teeth.

Raspberries, blackberries and strawberries (to a lesser extent) have little seeds according to my dental hygentist. I actually got a cavity the first checkup after quitting sugar despite Sonicare and flossing. So blend, blend, blend. Straining them is not something I want to do on account of texture.

Storebought pure vanilla extract is usually about (75 proof) and alcohol doesn't get cooked out. Glycerine based vanilla is as glycerol is an alcohol - it is strictly a chemical term for any organic compound featuring the functional group -OH. (But, remember I'm not a doctor.) A vanilla bean is more expensive and more work, but an explosion of flavor. Vanilla bean paste consists of vanilla bean pod, a sugar-water syrup, and some sort of thickener.
